I'm lucky my husband has akindle! I've downloaded it. It's a novel but it's anyway very interesting for my work, and that for only 2 euro! Woah!

Virginia Rounding's book on Catherine the Great a few years ago was really good and interesting(and it was on a subject that had tons in print already), so I'm sure this one will be as well.

There will be a new book about Marie Nicoleavna in late November 2011 or maybe December. It s by a German author and two editions- one is from 1899-1914 and second one the last years until 1918. The book is titled "Mandrifolie- Eine Tochter Zar Nikolaus II von Russland". Marie is telling her own life story based on the historical facts.
My bookseller told me about it for she has heard of it. I do not know the ISBN number for an order nor it s listed at amazon by now.
Just wanted to mention it.

Do you know if it is a well made novel or an historical book in first person?
It sounds very interesting but, alas, even if i've studied german also at the college (!!!) i'm not able to read a whole book in German (they have thaught me well, eh?)
So i'll have to wait some years for a translation...

the book will be like a novel, while Marie tells her own story year by year from 1899 until her death in first person, but it is based on the historical facts and events- as I ve heard...only some dialogues will be in fiction...I m not of German origin in that way, it s part of my childhood language and I speak so, as we say, la la, but I can read it much better. I think the book will not be translated in such a near future, for it will be published in a small publishing company at Berlin. I m on it, so if I get more infos I ll tell you all.

Please do! It will make a change from all the Anastasia fiction around (not that I'm complaining however).
