In more than a single source, i found some infos about a telegram received at the Governor's Mansion on Friday, 3rd May 1918 NS, sent by Matveev and announcing that NAM had been stopped and arrested in Ekaterinburg. To be precise:

Gilliard in "thirteen years"
Friday, May 3rd - Colonel Kobylinsky has received a telegram saying that the travellers have been detained at Ekaterinburg. What has happened?

Gilliard, from the deposition in "The last days of the R"
(page 29 in the old edition i found at the library):
"Greatly to the surprise of everybody, Kobylinsky suddenly received a telegram from Matveieff stating that the emperor and all the persons in his party were held up In Yekaterinburg. This was quite unexpected, as we all thought that the emperor was to be taken to Moscow"

Gibbes, from his deposition in "The last days of the R"
Page 49
"Later, somebody sent a wire that they were "held up" at Yekaterinburg. We were badly stricken by this news."

Kobylisnkij, from the deposition, same book:
(page 119)
On the 2oth of April the committee of our detachment received a telegram from Matveieff who informed them of the arrival at Yekaterinburg, I can not remember the exact words, but we were all surprised at its contents- We were all thunder-struck, as we were previously convinced that the emperor and empress would be taken to Moscow*

From le tsarevitch
(pag 261) "Nous avons appris par le tèlegramme de Matv. que tout va bien"
"We have know from Matveev's telegram that everything is alright"
(letter from Olga to AF , 4th May)

Ok, is this everything we know about this telegram, or do we have something more?
It seems a very important document to me - the different witnesses seem to tell slightly different things, so i would be very curious to see the text.

Hi Sunny,

I haven't read the Matveev telegram, but I am aware of it and I think I understand the sense of it. It's consistent with the various refeences to it that you cite, namely that NAM have literally been stopped at Ekaterinburg, though it was not the original intended destination. Also, the three Romanovs are correctly reported to be "all right. " The telegram was obviously sent very soon after NAM's arrival in the city: hence no details, just mention of their arrival.

Thanks Rodney, i was thinking the same, also because we knoe that after arrival Matveev and his fellow officiers were taken to prison for a couple of days.
I wonder why he did not mention Jakovlev (who was imprisoned, too)
