Marie showing proud her Tattoed arm. She got this anchor tattoo during her travel to the Far East. She said  she had "interesting experiences including visiting a Chinese opium den". I love her!

I have GOT to get that photo. LOL I'm working on something (aren't I always  Roll Eyes ) regarding tattooed royalty and it's so hard to find images of them--especially the female ones! I've seen other poses from that sitting--I wonder if it was usually airbrushed out.

MARIE 1865-1909 - A French Princess in Denmark

An unusual Princess; Marie of Orléans married into the Danish Royal Family, and became the sister-in-law of Europe. Unique pictures of a forgotten princess and an interesting text, which involves a lot of European history in the life of this gifted and independant Princess.

To be published May 2nd 2012 - 100 years to the day of the inauguration of the Princess Marie Statue at Langelinie in Copenhagen.

The book will be in English and Danish.

The book is now available at the Van Hoogstraten Bookstore! I ordered mine together with Dear Ellen and HVIDØRE - A Royal Retreat ! Anxiously awaiting them!!!:-)

I can identify most of the Royals in this photo, but I can't pin-point a date or ocassion.  I make a guess at it being the engagement of Marie to Waldemar.  Is that Marie's mother in front next to Queen Louise?  Any help would be appreciated.
