Indeed...but "Marie Valerie" I would urge you to wait to read the book and see why they chose to include Prussia.

I've already pre-ordered it at Hoogstraten! (Sadly there is no place in Germany to buy Eurohistory books. Can't you offer them at Amazon.de Mr. Beeche?)

Don't let me wait longer than April, I'm so curious.

Very excited! And that's one of my favorite photos you chose for the cover! I have a large framed version from the Sphere in 1894--so many royals in one sitting. :D

I got mine in the mail yesterday. :D  Am going to be spending the weekend devouring it but I definitely liked what I saw (and read) from my quick run-through yesterday.

The book is a regular coffee-table size book--it's twice the length of the Rosvall and similar books and larger in overall size (not the longer horizontal).

There were a number of familiar photos but a) the ones that were more common were still well-produced and well-laid out (and large!) and b) there were a LOT of lesser known or unknown (at least to me) photos.

From my quick  run through (so this can change upon closer examination), based on the photo credits, Art contributed what looks to be about half of the photos from the Eurohistory archives (this includes familiar and less familiar ones). So the book was really greatly expanded from its previous version.

Considering the number of photo books Art has put out or non-photo books he has contributed to, in the past couple years--Royal Gatherings, The Other Grand Dukes, The Four Graces, Dear Ellen among them--I was pleasantly surprised that there still wasn't a large amount of duplication of images among them. Art is really cracking that Eurohistory photo archive open! :)

So far, I'm giving this book a solid A for overall quality, layout, readability, photos (number, quality and uniqueness), availability/shipping and construction. Another good job. These books can be pricey and I've yet to be disappointed in a one that I've shelled money out for this year.

I think the book (or at least the part on the german-russian dynastic relations) is available in geman by Liki Rossii.

It's called Russland und Deutschland (Russia and Germany).

Author(s):    G. Kornewa, T. Tscheboksarowa

pages: 216, ISBN: 978-5-87417-414-9
