Off topic of the IF, a new period drama called ANZAC GIRLS!
« on: August 16, 2014, 07:42:36 AM »
I want to share with you guys a new Australian period drama called "Anzac Girls".    Set in 1915 Egypt sees a group of Australian and New Zealand nurses facing war.   The costumes are fantastic and seems to want to stay true to that time period.   It even has Australian Indigenous soldiers.   It is interesting to see the contrast of the IF women and associsated women of Russia as nurses and Australian/New Zealand nurses of the same period.

I thought I post some photos.

You are welcome Tim :)

My great grandfather served in Egypt during WWI.   So it took my interest.

I agree with Tim, it looks very interesting. Hope it'll be soon on TV here in France.

Just a little trivia we celebrate ANZAC day on 26th of April.     It is similar to Veterians (sp) day in the US.

Was Prince Dmitri's second wife- Sheila Mackellar Chisholm one of the Anzac girls? I remember reading that she was in Cairo during war and there she met her 1st husbandt Francis Edward Scudamore St Clair-Erskine, Lord Loughborough
