Yeah Social Media sites have grown a lot in the last ten years.  I guess we'll just have to live with it.

Still, I wish some of our long missing members would check in and let us know that at least they're still alive.

Unfortunately I agree with you Edubs 31, especially on your last point: "You get a good intellectual subject on assessing the reign of Nicholas II, or who deserves most of the blame for WWI, or ranking the Tsar's, that seems to get buried after only a few posts. I feel like topics such as those would have generated dozens or hundreds of replies a few years ago instead of just a handful". Is there any hope or will I just have to resign myself to the new situation and look elsewhere?

Cheers,
GREENOWL

We could always start our own history topic and see how many people jump on board? What should the topic be?

I've been thinking about doing a ranking of every Romanov Tsar (as I have done in the past with American Presidents). Might generate some interest...

That is a very good idea and we can but try! As you have probably noted from my previous posts, I am not a Romanov expert by any means but I will give the issue some thought and see if I can come up with a history topic....or perhaps someone else might have a good idea.

Thanks and cheers,

Odd...the quote function did not work properly in my previous post, but I assume (and hope) that my post is understandable.

That's okay, Monika, I just fixed it.

I've oftentimes wondered if any tsarist edicts are still in effect in Russia.  The Revolution couldn't have wiped all of the old laws off the books.  How much of modern-day Russian life is affected by laws rooted in tsarist decrees?

I'm sure Putin will be eager to find out.  He's positioning himself to be a 21st Century Tsar, after all.
