Maybe! She only found Medici tombs in the Medici chapel and also in San Lorenzo I think one Medici.

This is what I found in Alois Jahn's book:

The crypt is located underneath the church and you can only get access to it via the cloister. First you are in room with the the tomb of an artist called Donatello. Through a lattice door in this room you can enter another part of the crypt with the tomb of Cosimo of Medici. In the second part of this room there is the chapel in which 13 royals were laid to rest, mainly children (Ferdinand III., Albrecht and Maximilian, Franz Leopold, Maria Ludovica, Karoline Auguste and Maria Maximiliana, Maria Anna, Maria Christina and Maria Theresia, Rainer Salvator, Anna and Clemens of Saxony).
In another chapel inside the church (Jahn wrote: "church, transept, on the right") is the tomb of Maria Anna Caroline, the first wife of Leopold II. and mother of Auguste Ferdinande of Bavaria.

This means: Anna was laid to rest in San Lorenzo - together with 12 Habsburgs, her uncle Clemens and many Medici family members.

Pity to be there and not find it. I wonder why Anna Maria was buried there where are mainly children? I think San Lorenzo is a nice church but not the most impressive in Florence.

I've seen a photo of her, she looks the most unprettiest among her sisters and as if very ill.

She was deaf and for this reason she was shy and reserved. Her parents wanted a marriage between her and Franz Joseph.

Deaf but parents wanted a marriage with Franz Joseph??? Did they think Franz Joseph itself wanted a deaf wife? Sometimes nothing remains for but to wonder what was in their Royal heads...Definitely only a desire for a proper alliance.

Why do you think Sidonie was deaf? Could you tell me your source?

I've seen four pictures of her so far and have to agree with Sveta that she was rather plain and definitely not a cadidate for Franz Joseph.

In Silke Marburgs book about Johann von Sachsen is a letter from Amalie, Sidonies mother. She wrote about Sidonies deafness. She heard something but really bad.

In fact her mother Luise of Tuscany's great-grandmother was Maria Ferdinanda of Saxony, the sister of King Johann I of Saxony who was the grandfather of Luise's first husband Frederick August of Saxony.   So Monika still descended from the royal house of Saxony, even if you discount Frederick August.

Was it ever decided that there was no chance that she was Frederick August's child? Or is that supposition based on Luise's behavior before, during and after her pregnancy?

Maria Ferdinanda of Saxony, the second wife of Grand Duke Ferdinand III of Tuscany, was childless. It was his first wife, Louise of Naples, who gave him children and was the great-grandmother of Louise.

Was it ever decided that there was no chance that she was Frederick August's child? Or is that supposition based on Luise's behavior before, during and after her pregnancy?

I was wondering the same. In any case, I guess most people didn't regard Monika as Frederick August's child, whether she was or not.
