Amanda Misha, I'm glad you started this thread. Grand Duke Michael and his secretary Nicholas Johnson do often get "lost in the shuffle." As with the others, they did not deserve what happened to them. May their souls both rest in peace.

Sorry to quibble about this (or not) , but I thought Michael and NJ were killed June12, not July 12. Or rather June12,1918 is the most frequently cited date. July 12,1918 Hasalso been mentioned. Anyone positive?

The June date is correct. However, there is a great deal of information out there - on the internet and in books - which is incorrect. I even used a bad date for his death in my biography for the AP site - because I was repeating incorrect information that was published in multiple sources.

Thanks for the date, Lisa  :)
Another question, if they have never found the bodies, so that they do not look for them? ???

There has not, to my knowledge, been a concentrated search for them. Penny Wilson told me that there is a very good chance that where they are buried is now a parking lot.

My understanding is that the exact location where the two corpses were disposed of remains unknown.

I've heard as well that the bodies were almost completly destroyed and whatever was left of the remains were disposed of in an unknown location. One has to wonder if those two bodies will ever be found and laid to proper rest.

Yes, well as you can see, there are actually many answers. The reported burial space is covered by a parking lot, while another report that the bodies were destroyed in a factory, and as Margarita mentions, there is no conclusive opinion or findings as to where they are.
