There are pictures of the Reuß family beginning from about 1850 until last year...many of the images we used have not been seen by the people outside the family.  Some were taken by me in the last few years.

Another bit of arcane Reuss numbering:
In 1876 Marie Anna of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach married Heinrich VII [Reuss-Kostritz].  Their sons became, respectively, Heirich XXXII, XXXIII & XXXV. Now, the jump from VII to XXXIII seems a bit, but what happened to XXXIV ?

It seems that some other Reuss pair had a child(boy) in those years between the second and the third son of Prince Heinrich and Princess Marie Anna and that he was then Prince Heinrich XXXIV!That's how I understood the sistem!

Ok, that makes sense. It must be a very large family to have jumped from VII to XXXII in one generation.

Here's an interesting account of the Heinrich LXXII:
"Heinrich was now Lord and Master of a principality of 165 quare miles of wooded hils & modest farmland harbouring about 20,000 inhabitants. His capital was Ebersdorf on the Saale, a town of about 1,200 whewre he spent most of his time hunting, inspecting his woodlands and begetting [illegitimate children]. Serenissimus, as he was styled did have partial control of the bustling town of Gera, which had more than 10,000 inhabitants but he shared sovreignty there with his cousin, the Prince of Reuss-Schleitz, who was also named Heinrich [surprise, surprise!].
...Heinrich LXXII's father had been...Heinrich LI; twenty other male Reusses had been born between the father's birth & his son's.
The prince did not receive many visitors who were not named Heinrich...
[Lola Montez - future-lover of Ludwig of Bavaria - whom he
was entertaining] was pleasantly surprised by the court of Ebersdorf, finding even its modest charms more than she had expected....but the sameness of each day soon bored her. She found [Heinrich] morethan a bit ridiculous in his vanities and she was frustrated that none at the tiny court could hear her jokes about him without being shocked."  ('Lola Montez' by Bruce Seymour)

The name Heinrich was used by all male members of the family to honor the Holy Roman Emperor Heinrich VI who first appointed them Imperial Stewards.

I've always been morbidly fascinated by the numbering system the Reuss family has used.  What would happen, I wonder, should a rebellious mother take the notion into her head to name her son Wilhelm or Georg instead of Heinrich [insert Roman numeral here]?

It is a sad story; thank you posting it!  Smiley  She has a wonderful voice - such a pity that Abba disbanded just before they were due to perform in Leeds!

It's a pity she didn't marry a king instead of a prince, then she could have been a Dancing Queen  Grin

Forgive me, I do not know this story.
From the dates given in one of the above posts, I assume the prince died relatively young and left his wife a widow?
