Queen Margarethe of Denmark when approached about the Zahle papes has said they are in the royal family archive and that this archive is not open to the public not even scholars. At least this is the official explanation. Some people believe that the papers contain sensitive information with strong evidence in favour of Anna Andersonīs claim. This is all Iīve heard about it but Iīm sure they are very interesting reading since Zahle was very much involved in the  investigation of Frau Shaikowsky-Anna Anderson in the 1920īs.

Now that almost if not everyone involved or mentioned in the Case is dead I donīt know why they persist in witholding the information. Oh for a little wander around the Amalienborg...!

Can anyone tell me if besides a DNA sample, was there ever one of those tests to see an photographic overview to match AA skull with HIHA?

Like many others worldwide, I suppose I hold on to the hope that for one moment in time, a dear child of their IH lived and got away from that awful night, etc. That's why its so important to see what has not been brought to light, and make sure it is, as the Zahle Papers. Thanks for allowing me to share my thoughts.

I'm sorry that Mr. Schweitzer doesn't wish to post here any longer, because his contributions would be so valuable.  In any event, I'm wondering if the Zahle papers are subject to some sort of mandate that they be un-sealed and opened for public viewing within a set period of time.  (I suspect it's a long shot given the extraordinary secrecy surrounding them thus far ... there must be some VERY interesting stuff in there.)

Apparently they are in the private archive of the Danish Royal Family and as such are not subject to any freedom of information mandate.

Does no one else apart from Real Anasatasia agree that the release of these papers would clear up a lot of the doubts which linger around this case?
Aby other ideas on what they say?

It is quite possible that these papers will not clear anything up at all, or possible they may raise more questions. As an historian, I support release of the papers for study or publication, because without them, there will still be questions as to what they contain.

But if the papers, I mean the dossier is in Danish archives, why is secret?, itīs possible to see it?, itīs possible to ask the Danish goverment for this subject, for instance, a reporter or a historian research, it will be really interesting
Thanks. Ordino

Ordino, the Zahle papers have been requested for release many times by various historians, but I believe the Queen of Denmark refuses to release them.  They are her private property and she has no obligation to release them if she does not wish to.

I don't believe anyone has seen the Zahle papers since they were put into the Danish archives, but I agree, it would be wonderful if they were released to the public.  I for one would be fascinated to read what they contain.  However, what they contain would hardly make any difference, because even if they said 'Anna Anderson is Anastasia', the papers were compiled before the DNA tests.  What could have been shocking and dangerous if they were released before the DNA tests will not make much difference now, because we have the scientific evidence that proves AA's identity beyond 'reasonable doubt'.
