Well...One can believe what wants to believe.

Yes, one certainly can.

I'm probably beating a dead horse, but Eric, I didn't ask what language or what country the book was published in. I asked if you had the name of it, and was it actually written by Bee or a bio of her. Possibly the 3rd time will be the charm and I'll get an answer to that question.

The Baby Bee book is called "Ena & Bee" and written by an old lady named Ana (who also wrote a book on Queen Mecedes, first wife of Alfonso XII). The book is in Spanish but Bee's illustrated pages are in English. Go to a Spanish book website and look.

A nice portrait of HRH The Duchess of Connaught in 1908 by J. Singer Sargent:

My friend saw this portrait when he visited one of the inner rooms of Buckingham Palace...

Very nice, Eric ! :)

I wonder if the Duke of Connaught did attend the wedding of his granddaughter Ingrid in 1935 ?

No, he didn't. Age was catching up to him by then. He didn't attend GV's funeral the following year either--and that was in England with fairly little travel.

Age must of been catching up with him as you say, apparently Arthur, like his mother, was a stickler for funeral attendance.

He was in the south of France when Alice Athlone's son Rupert died, and was surprised that Patsy didn't go to the service at Windsor.

Arthur wrote to his sister Louise from Bath (where he was when GV died and where he attended the memorial service) that 'We ought all of us to be proud of what George has done for his country...It is so dear of you wanting to come down here for a few hours on Tuesday, the day of dear George's funeral ; but I do think that it would be ABSOLUTELY FOLLY on your part; and I must entreat you not to run the great risk of taking this long and cold journey in this very trying and changeable weather and in this, the coldest month of the whole winter. I a happy to say that I am quite all right, and had arranged to attend a memorial service in the abbey here at noon on Tuesday, accompanied b the Lord Lieutenant and the Mayor...with my warmest love ever your devoted brother Arthur"

It is sad that he didn't write his memoirs like his mother, they could have told so much about what is inside the family...
