Since he already has published a work of fiction called The Amber Room (checked it out on the web), this next one also may be a work of fiction.

I tried a Google search under "Romanov Prophecy"  - they did not have a description, but it was listed as "fiction".

according to bookreporter.com, Romanov Prophecy is fiction. "It's a contemporary thriller about Russia involving the Romanovs, Fabergé eggs, and Rasputin."

Steve Berry has a website:

http://www.steveberry.org/

I am hoping as the date gets closer that he will put more information up on his new book - maybe even an excerpt !!!

I loved The Amber Room !

We were recently sent a pre-release copy for our review.  I read it.  I enjoyed it quite well as a work of fiction.  Steve Berry admits that he created a lot of the "background" for the book.  It is a thriller, about "survivors" of the Imperial Family, hidden treasure, a "Rasputin prediction" (the one that is now known to be fake stretched out into a 'prophecy') and bad guys trying to take over modern day Russia (Russia decides to bring back the Tsar!).  It really is not about the "Romanovs" per se other than using them as a basis for his fictional story and 98% of the story takes place "today".

Enjoy the novel for the fun story with lots of twists, turns and intrigue. It  will be released September 1.

Ooooh!  Cool!  Is this book a factual account of the Amber Room, or is it a fictional story with plots and characters and all that good stuff?

This book appeared at Borders this week.  It looks like a nice work of fiction based on the wishful thinking that two of the children survived.  The Tsarevich-Martyr's name is misspelled enough to distract me...

I have just finished reading this book, and enjoyed it, the same way I enjoyed the historical basis of the "DaVinci Code".  I accepted it as fiction, enjoyed the "what if..." scenario, and had a nice escapist read.  He does provide a nice historical note at the end of the book, explaing what is fact, what is fiction.

If you want to read a great thriller, pick it up.  I'm interested in reading his "Amber Room" next.

Respectfully, I did not like the first novel The Amber Room, nor his second book.

I dislike what if scenarios ... Shocked
