Yes...but poor Catalina died too early  Cry

Clara Eugenia lost her looks in later life and became quite stout.

Still Felipe II...he is the best !

Quote
The two daughters of Felipe II, Isabel Clara Eugenia, and Catalina Micaela, were beautiful too, especially Catalina.

Their mother, Elisabeth of Valois, was beautiful too.

What about Maria, Philip's II sister and Austrian Empress?
On this portrait she looks quite pretty!

This portrait of Maria is fantastic. However i have seen another with her husband and son and she shows there a pronunciated prognatism. Her sister was , it seems extremely smart and pretty. Curiously Catalina Mikaela was considered pretty , but Isabella C Eugenia was considered beautiful. Now, from our esthetic canons, we are divided., for Mikaela and Juana approach more our modern concept of beauty. Recently i have got a magazine in Aranjuez completely dedicated to Juana and her representations. It seems every thing in these portr. was calculated by this princess, every jewel, every pose, every element had a signification.

It's a wonderful work. She loved specially one where she appears with an imposing dog. Really, if you can see it you will understand inmediately why, wow! The perfect mixture between the severity of the austrias and the Avis beauty.

Rubens also painted Isabel of Boubon (I am sure this time ! This being the daughter of Henry IV). He was also a favourite of Isabel's mother Marie de Medici, and painted the murals of her life inside the Luxembourg Palace in Paris (now they are in the Louve Museum).  Smiley

Yes she looks pretty. The mother of Felipe II, Isabel of Portugal was very beautiful, even if her children inherited the jew of the Habsburg, they were very good looking.

Yes, Velazquez portrayed Maria when this princess stayed in Naples, just before going to get married in Austria. Valois+Medicis= fatality, illness, poison, beauty, intrigue, decadence. Remember Margot. however La princesa de la Paz (Isabelle de Valois) was not, it seems, so frivole. When Catherine de M. and her court, during the regence, met her again after years they were astonished. Isabelle was not Isabelle, she wore dark sad clothes and was more spanish than french. What an irony. After spaniards, she was more french than spanish. Philippe loved her passionately. None of the other three spouses had the same account of witt:
the sofistication of France, the latine allure, the age of Philippe at that time. Over this, the fact she was to be the bride of his son! Too much for an autumn man. He loved Ana very much, but in another way: fair, cold, serene, she was his winter. I mean Isabelle was the spring in his autumn, Ana, a sunny winter day.

It is natural that the bastard one are better looking, they are less affected by the interbreeding that goes on the main line.  Smiley

His half brother Felipe II and sisters, where as attractive as him.

In my opinion, the effects of the consanginity arrived later, Carlos II was the sample.
