Bit of a bummer.Due to vulcanic ashes after a vulcano erupting on Iceland on wednesday, most,if not all flights from the UK, Norway
and several cities in Europe to Copenhagen Kastrup International Airport are cancelled.

All airports have disrupted air traffic due to this and cancellations and delays come in by the minute at present. What a shame.

So is the flight of the Norwegian Royals departing from Oslo, they will come to Copenhagen by other means.
Crown Prince Haakon,on his way home after an official visit to the UAE is stuck at London Heatrow due to the ash rain .

Why on earth would they fly from Oslo to Copenhagen in the first place? What a waste of resources.  Surely boat or train would be  more  effecient.
Life may not be the party we expected, but while we are here, might as well dance..

Waste of resources you say?And flying to and fro Heathrow and San Fran 6 times a year isn't?Quelle difference ne c'est pas..

Anyway.Flying IS the most efficient, but as airspace over Danmark is still closed, trains too distant and water too slow,
the guestlist will not be disclosed until about 20.00PM instead of 15.00PM.

No-one could foresee a vulcano erupting in Iceland would cause these difficulties all over Europe, british airspace is closed as well.
Several Royals will surely not make it on time, but will probably be at the Birthday Gala tomorrow,HM's actual birthday.

Queen Sonja is on her way from Stavanger to Oslo by car, that will take at least 7 hours, the King can't leave Oslo and will preside of the cabinet meeting tomorrow morning first and then go to Copenhagen,Crown Prince Haakon will try to get to Copenhagen later on and Crown Princess Mette Marit is on her way by car to Copenhagen and already had started out this morning,a huge stretch too, driving to Malmo and then across the bridge right into Copenhagen. She will be the only one able to attend both days from the Norwegian RF.
Depending the circumstances Queen Sonja will either leave early tomorrow morning by car or fly.
TM Queen Margrethe and Queewn Sonja are best friends and it's really a pity this weather thing came up for both, and all others ofcourse..

Today HM received wellwishers at Fredensborg Palace:
