The Stavka was located in several buildings at Mogilev's central Gubernatorskaya Square, one of which (the general-governor's palace) was used for Nicholas II's living quarters.

The huge square is currently called Sovetskaya - unlike Russia, almost nothing in Byelorussia has been renamed since the Soviet time. The palace and other historical structures seem to have not survived, and the square is surrounded by drab multistore office buildings.

Берёзы севера мне милы,
Их грустный, опущённый вид,
Как речь безмолвная могилы,
Горячку сердца холодит.
