Actually I am puzzled about a lady in black beside Missy. The profile of this lady has a striking resemblance to Crownprincess Stephanie of Austria, widow of Crownrince Rudolf...

i think  she really is Crownprincess Stephanie!!!!
she looks like her!!!

I am looking for pictures/photos of Queen Victoria Augusta (b. Hohenzollern Sigmaringen) with her 2nd husband Count Douglas - or pics of the count alone

Thanks in advance.

Jose,

There are certainly photos of the couple at the time of the marriage - published in newspapers.

Here I am again chiming in on a very ancient topic.  As I browse through old "Royalty Digest" copies I am finding some relavent photos to this topic.  Here is the Countess of Trani, Mathilde and her daughter Madi with Auguste Victoria.

I hope these have not been posted already.

I hope you haven't finished browsing through your old magazines yet.  Wink

I've never seen this photo of Augusta Victoria and her mother Maria Teresa, but another version of this sitting. There is even another one showing Mädi, her husband Wilhelm, Augusta Victoria and the new born twins Franz Joseph and Friedrich Victor.

Smiley I'm glad you like this photo Marie Charlotte.  I am always a bit nervous when posting photos.  I have a terribly slow dial-up connection and I would never be able to view all the photos posted here.  In the past I have gotten in a bit of trouble from other poster by putting up photos that are already here. I am pleased this one is original to you and you get enjoyment from it.  I will continue my search.................. Cheesy

I found it hard to buy books on Portuguese royalty in Lisbon. I picked up a couple at the Ajuda Palace small bookstore. Others I picked up at the Palacio de la Pena in Sintra and at the Queleuz Palace outside of Lisbon. Most city bookstores had nothing.

You should have looked better

Both Livraria Férin and Livraria Sá da Costa in Chiado have many of books on Portuguese royalty.
With some luck you will find them also at Livraria Bertrand or FNAC.
Maybe the best place to find them is at the "alfarrabistas", the wonderful second-hand bookstores in Baixa, Chiado and Bairro Alto .
