This was a story told by Professor Sergei Rudnev who had been at the Winter Palace that day and as he was leaving was bombarded by paper balls from an open window, when he looked up he saw A & T laughing.

lol. I guess that shows how immature OTMAA really was. They had almost no contact with other kids. Tatiana throwing paper balls at age seventeen, priceless.

it surprises me that Tatiana would do that.

It doesn't really surprise me. Tatiana was said to be the most immature one, besides Anastasia.

Actually I'd probably say in level of maturity it was Tatiana, Olga, Maria and Anastasia--Tatiana the first just since she was so darn responsible.

It doesn't surprise me; Anastasia would get her sisters into her immature little schemes.  IMO it was probably her idea and Tatiana thought it was funny enough to go do with her.  Kind of like in the letter when Olga says she and Anastasia locked a servant's daughter in the bathroom...

lol. Anastasia was such a little brat. She DID get punished for locking someone in the bathroom, right?

Letter from Olga to Nicholas, Oct 9 1915:

I am sitting in Mr. Gilliard's rooms near the door of his water-closet where Trina's little nasty girl Katya is sitting locked in by Anastasia and myself. We've just drawn her along the dark passage and pushed her in. The weather became very cold and it was snowing today and the snow didn't melt. We had a lot of fun when we went for a drive with Isa but Mother was receiving visitors all the time which was rather dull. Mordvinov had breakfast with us and told us a lot of interesting things but we interrupted him every moment as usually and didn't let him go on. It's always a great pleasure for us to read Aleksey's letters. He writes such nice and funny letters without Pyotr Vasilyevich's help...Katya is still locked in the W.C. She is knocking and wailing behind the door but we are implacable.

Well, if Olga says the little girl was nasty, way to go Anastasia! Do you think Nikolai would have scolded them for this? He probably didn't. Why would Olga tell him about it knowing they'd get in trouble?
