I have read this new Russian edition earlier this year. The new Russian publication is long over due bearing an attractive photograph of Olga Paley with her son on the cover.

The English edition has been available for decades. :)

These new Russian editions often contain different photographs, while the Imperial terminolgy and names are precise.

Translations have enormous problems. So many memoirs of this type insist on replacing perfectly decent Russian terms with French variants. It can be extremely annoying and often leads to subtle misinterpretations.

For this reason I prefer the Russian language editions, as my first choice.  :)

The photographs of the palace was taken from the small book published in  1922 for auction.

there is one charming verses of Vladimir of clavesin of Marie Antoinette, and I wonder, why they did not put it?

As for translation,  I have the memoirs of the Paley which was printed in Russian in 1926 . I think that 1926's Russian is more like the one they used in real.
But the source of the 1926's book is different - the Memoirs in the form of the articles in the magazine "Revue de Paris" , but not the Memoirs Book of 1923 which was the source of the Zakharov's publishing house edition.
But I think that Mr. Zakharov found out the very suitable photos for the Memoirs.
