We were in St Petersburg indeed...lovely time, marvelous weather, far better than last year's.

The group met Xenia Sfiris and Michel Andreievich.  Some of us also ran into Their Hellenic Majesties, as well as Nicholas Romanovich and Andrei Andreievich.

Coryne Hall gave a lecture on Maria Feodorovna for the group...it was all quite exciting.

Yes...as well as a memorial photo book (glossy pages/hardbound)) on her life and the reburial ceremonies which should be in print within a week.

Sounds good! How much will deal with her life and how much with the reburial?

While the Danes were very good about providing us with a list of those attending, the Russians to my knowledge have not supplied such a list. I have therefore started complining a list of my own, which i will publish here once it's done. Here is the info I need on each attendee:

Full Name and Style
Birth Year
State/Country of Residence
Father & Mother's Name
Relationship to MF

Contributions are both welcomed and will be acknowledged!

One of the thrills of my travelling life was attending the ceremony in St.Isaacs Cathedral for the reburial of HIM Maria Federovna. We went to St. Petersburg not knowing if the mass would be open to the public. In fact, we had been told it definitely wasn't. However, probably because a last minute cancellation by Putin, you could just walk in. Standing for 3 hours passed very quickly. However the magnificent choir could be heard perfectly. And then we visited her grave the following day. all in all a very moving experience.
Always a name dropper I must mention that many Romanovs were staying in our hotel...the Astoria. I was delighted to meet Mrs Paul Ilyinsky, daughter in law of GD Dimitri, and her family.

May she rest in peace.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in a pretty and well preserved body; but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow ---- What a ride!!!"

In Issue LIII (October 2006) of The European Royal History Journal we will have a complete report of the event covered by Coryne Hall, a guest both in Copenhagen and Russia.  The report wil also include photos we have from the memorials in Denmark and Russia, as well as the lying-in-state in Peterhof, which I visited.

Thank you Arturo,

I can't wait for my copy and I hope lots of pictures of the proceedings and a list of who's who.

I hope you and all your touring guests had a good time in Russia.  I was thinking of you all over there at the time of the reburial.

Where can I get a copy of this magazine. Is it by subscription? If so, how/where can I subscribe.
