Thanks for the link to the interview without the Russian dubbing, ashanti01!

Clearly Irina and Felix don't speak French with such a strongly rolled r as some other royals and Russian aristocrats , but do they really use a uvular r? I can't hear / say for sure. Any opinions? Of course, they might originally have had strongly rolled r's that were "polished down" in French exile.

It's the same interview without the dub. I have both versions posted on my youtube page.

Felix and Irina
Outside the chateaux de Keriolet in Brittany
This pic was taken prob in the late 50s when Felix won the court case to regain the chateaux and estate his great grandmother had given to the local town/state.
Felix eventually sold the property after removing family portraits (including his grandmothers by Winterhalter) and other furnishings

I was going through my grandmother's papers, and I came across this postcard of Prince Felix Yussupov and his wife. It looks somewhat like the kind of card that would have been sent out with a wedding or engagement announcement. I can't imagine anyone selling these in those days, and the prince and his wife look young enough to be at that general time period.

My question is, is this a collectible, or something that is only a novelty?

Yes, it was taken at the time of their engagement.  I'd say it's a pretty great find, and probably a collectible, although the image has been seen many times on the Forum.

Yes, but then again: this is an original and not an image.

I have seen that particular postcard sold on ebay before; I'm sorry I can't recall what it went for, but you could definitely call it a collectible.  Anyway, congratulations on making such a great find  Wink

Why does the picture above of Felix and Irina from 1962 look like it was taken in 1862? lol
