Koreiz, the Yusupov palace in Crimea

This is  Koreiz, one of  the Yusupov palace in Crimea (summer 1994)

Do you have any information on this palace?

After the revolution it belonged to bolshevik government as so-called Rest home or sanatorium. Later it was used as a state dacha. During Yalta conference Stalin stayed there.
During Perestroika it was used as a private expensive hotel.
Now the place unfortunately belongs to the Ukrainian state security service and there is no access for tourist or anybody interested in history. How they use it- no idea. But I suppose they will ruin it as they already did to a lot of Crimea historical sites.

There are pic's of the interiors reproduced in Ferrand's "Les Princes Youssoupoff". Koriez was where the Russian contingent stayed during the Yalta conference. The English were housed at Koriez & of course the Americans stayed at Livadia.

i was in the palace in 2001, after i gave a guard some money and showed him screensaves of my yusupov website. another nice guard showed me around, i made a lot of pictures lay on the bed of stalin. The interior is like it was during the stay of stalin, the whole interior was changed for him. Even a small cinema was created in the cellar with isome 12 chairs. The garden is kind of beautiful mess. The palace looked as it was not in use. I can tell you, very exciting to have been inside!

It is fantastic what you ve done,'the next time I go in Ukraine or Russia,I'll try to corrupt guards in order to enter into historical buildings ...

Has someone seen any paintings, watercolours of the palace or its interiors?

Is this the palace mentioned by Felix in his memoir? I can't recall but I believe he mentioned a residence there that the Romanov's preferred to theirs (I assume this was before they built the new palace at Livadia).

You mean the IF?... I do not think the IF stayed at Koreiz ever...they had their own official palace before they built the one at Livadia, which was more of a private palace for it waas built wth their personal funds..

I don't mean that they stayed the night, but he talked of having the IF for dinner in the Crimea, & I believe he said they very much envied the palace.
