I'm looking for any interesting quotes said by Anastasia. You can post either single quotes or exchanges between her and another person. They can be funny, serious, weird, whatever works. Thanks!

Here's a funny one Smiley

Anastasia was climbing up on the table in her nursery and jumping off. The nurse said, "You musn't do that, Anastasia, it's too dangerous. You may jump off the chair if you'd like, but the table is too high."

But naughty little Nastya continued to jump off the table, so the nurse gave her a little slap. "A slap isn't nice, but it is better to jump off the table and get a slap then to jump off the chair and not get one!" said Anastasia, and she jumped off the table again!

Finally, her nurse pulled out a ribbon and tied Ana to the chair. "It is not nice to jump off the chair, but it is nicer to jump off the chair and not be tied up then to jump off the table and be tied up!"

I'm sorry if I didn't get it exactly right, I forget where I found it!

hope this helps Smiley

You are filled with anguish
For the suffering of others
And no one's grief
Has ever passed you by
You are relentless
Only towards yourself
Forever cold and pitiless
But only if you could look upon
Your Own sadness From a distance
Oh, how you would pity yourself
How sadly you would we

Please be careful of posting quotes if you can't name the source or verify that they're accurate. There's a lot of Romanov myths floating around already...

This came from the book “Royal Romances of Today” by Kellogg Durland published in 1911. He didn’t mention where he got this so its credibility can still be questioned.

Here's a cute anecdote.

Anastasia was found by the dining room table in Tobolsk or Ekatrinburg, I forget which, I'm so sorry, but anyway, she was hopping up and down on 1 leg. Someone found her and asked her what she was doing and she replied, "A soldier told me if you hop up and down on 1 leg it makes you grow taller!"

Teehee! This sounds just like the Malenkaya Nastasya we know!

I have never seen a quote by Anastasia saying this, besides in fictional writings said to be in her voice. Do you have a source?

Here's a cute anecdote.

Anastasia was found by the dining room table in Tobolsk or Ekatrinburg, I forget which, I'm so sorry, but anyway, she was hopping up and down on 1 leg. Someone found her and asked her what she was doing and she replied, "A soldier told me if you hop up and down on 1 leg it makes you grow taller!"

This is not correct.

The anecdote you're referring to did not occur in Tobolsk or Ekaterinburg.

Here is the anecdote:
"Once, in Tsarskoe Selo, my father found her alone in the dining room of the palace, tired and perspiring, yet hopping energetically on one leg around the table. 'What are you doing?' my father asked her. 'An officer on the yacht told me that to hop around a dining-room table on one leg helps one to grow,' Anastasia explained with great seriousness, without for a moment interrupting her strenuous exercise."  - Gleb Botkin.

Hmm...Yet what I wrote was what I read. It was probably an unreliable source. Sorry!

I saw one in Ally's wallpaper:

http://www.deviantart.com/download/118185553/Princess_Anastasia_wallpaper_by_VelkokneznaMaria.jpg

It says: "Sleep sweetly and see me in your dreams and I will see you so we are quits!"
I'm totally sure that it was Anastasia's quote.

Such a lovely quote! Can anyone confirm if it was definitely Anastasia who said it?

This is from a letter by Anastasia to Nicholas on 23 September 1914. You can find it on page 402 of A Lifelong Passion.
