If he'd lived into his twenties...he might well have been a father...as was his haemophiliac great-uncle,Leopold,the Duke of Albany, son of Queen Victoria....

I think Alyosha woulda made a great father...he was nice, patient, and all that jazz, but when things were unfair, he didn't tolerate it...

^It wasn't impossible, just not likely. And asking if he would be a good father is the same as asking if he would be a good czar. It's fairly pointless in my mind to ask these types of questions since his personality had barely begun to truly develop and give us an idea of what kind of individual he would be. Alexei would most likely not have lived till marriage anyway in my opinion- his health was too fragile and such a situation was unlikely if things had continued the way they were before their deaths.

Well...I think most of us would agree that the father rarely gives birth...brilliant point there.

And "lucky"?...twice.... Roll Eyes

Yeah, I guess asking what Alyosha would be like as a father IS a pointless question, but sometimes the pointless things are the best in life. Wink

Hey guys, what do you think would have happend if the IF could have lived and Alexei died before Nicholas ended his reign? Also, if the IF wasn't murdered, how long do you think Alexei would have lived in his present state of health?

His "present" state of health is dead.
