I know Italian quite well, but I haven't lived longer there, I don't know and didn't find the meaning of the names, even when knowing the language. So, can you tell us, what it means?
I don't have very much practical experience in speaking language, maybe it's a slang or something, I don't know

I really don't know about those words, and thought they are simply short forms of the names. But it would be interesting to know, if there's more behind it. I'll look up again, bt until now I didn't find any meaning of it. I know the language from my lessons, but I 'm no native speaker

my dears, this time, I am not kidding nor joking.

I think the nicknames Nicchia, Ciolla, Tetella and Petite are words with 2 (ore more) meanings. Ones could be heavily sexual . But I have to verify carefully. That's popular language, low speaking. Those things are generally not on the web, and sometimes neither into books. I have to ask a friend living near Napoli for the actual meanings and a specialist of popular languages for their senses at the times of Ferdinando 2 .

As I supposed this is not standard written Italian, but spoken "language" of special circles of people, so I could not have known it. But i wonder, why that name Ciolla was given to her even when there`s a sexual connected meaning or something. I only wonder that this happened among aristocratic circles. Or didn't they know about such double meanings?

Maria Terasa was indeed a wonderful person, a good Catholic.

She was with FF's children at their parents' funeral.

She also visited Ferdinand when he was dying of a shameful disease (long after  he was expelled from the imperial family because of his morganantic marriage).

I think she also played a hand in Karl I and Zita's marriage (her being Zita's maternal aunt).
I'd also like to know about her life after the empire.
