Thanks Anne! D'Ohh, I made her taller last night, but not quite tall enough then. Whaaa. I'll move her up a touch more tonight. She's getting a bit cross with me. Nobody should get on the wrong side of Maria, if they know what's good for them !
Indeed, but luckily she has a soft heart lol!

I've read Nicholas was 5' 6" tall, so it's not a suprise he was being caught up with by Alexei. That said, they were both "giants" of history, I'm sure we all agree. Smiley

Of course :-) I think he was 5' 7'' actually but whatever. Overall I'd say Nicholas was on the low average of height for the typical male of his era. I read somewhere that the average height taken from around a million American WWI soldiers during 1917/18 was 5' 7 1/2''. I'm not sure what's typical for Russia but Americans are pretty well even with most western European countries and slightly shorter on average than those from Germany/Netherlands and Scandinavia. Taking into account however that the wealthy in most societies tend to be taller (a byproduct of generally better health and nutrition) than the general population Nicholas was indeed rather small...and especially so for a Romanov.

Yeah I was gonna say...if you think Maria can be a bit cross and that you shouldn't get on the wrong side of her, imagine what Anne has to go through dealing with the Imp for eight months! lol

The photo their faces are  from ( the one with tennis rackets  and the flower pot=)

Correct Anne... and Tatiana's face is from Standart deck. The "Governess" looks stern while the polka-dotted little pair look a bit glum (Ana with a dog) and, on the left, Alexandra darning Alexei's socks? lololol

And he had that tall guy General/relative commanding his army (forget his name right now), who was like a bean pole standing next to him. lol

Yeah, I feel for her. When I'm working on Alexei pics I'm always careful to check my boots for ripe strawberries before I put them on. Just 'cos you're a Saint doesn't mean you have to behave like one the whole time. :)

All of Them (Revisited)

For larger version click here http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/gg592/John_Honestly/All%20of%20Them%20Revisited/AllOfThemRevisitedWorking.jpg

In the light of suggestions here on AP, here's a revised image of the cellar scene. GD Maria is taller and Tsarevich Alexei is bigger, with his face age-progressed by a couple of years, as best I can do it. I hope you think it still looks like Alexei. I've made other minor changes... Tsar's head is slightly enlarged, Tsar's medal changed to Order of Vladimir (I think it is) and Mr Trupp's head is a bit bigger too.

I think I've come to the present limit of my ability with this picture, but you're welcome to grab it and improve on it if you like. It's not copyrighted or watermarked. Just please don't use it for financial gain.

If we're all agreed this version is an improvement, I propose to break the links to the previous version showing on this thread, after you've had a short while to compare the two images. No point in having different versions of the same image all over the web.

Thanks for your help all those who made suggestions. :)

Thank you very much Anne! I was wondering what you thought of it. Lol
"My, Maria. How you've grown" said Olga, looking up at her. :-)

тяв-тяв,

Good job HJ!  I understand what you mean by the youtube issues.  It would be nice if HBO were to do a season or two of episodes...

Thank you Ortipo. And thanks for putting me on to HBO. I had no idea who they are until I googled. I lead a sheltered life. :)

Thank you rosieposie! Smiley

I very much like your banner of our dear brave Klementy Nagorny. It's so nice to see he is remembered and honoured in this way.
