I had bought that print--it had been removed from an old magazine or book of the time--and have it in a frame on my wall along with Kaulbach's portrait of Queen Marie of Romania--or at least I will once hubby gets them hung up again in the new house. They form pendant portraits. : ) Because of the heavy paper they are printed on, I'm thinking they were probably from a book on Kaulbach's work from around the turn of the century. They are thicker than magazine papers (not as thick as the woodbury prints) but still thin enough to be fairly fragile.
