What Ifs or Alternate Histories

I think we're in the mid-20's now.

Can't really help on haemophilia experiments, but blood transfusion only became a routine thing in the 1930s, because it was only then that techniques of preserving blood developed, so allowing the creation of blood banks. I think the use of plasma developed about the same time. Wikipedia has a section on blood transfusions which gives the information.

That might have been awkward -

Luton Hoo had been the home of Sir Julius Wernher (who ironically was born in Hesse)

In 1917 it was owned by his second son Harold and his wife Anastasia de Torby daughter of Grand Duke Michael Mikhailovitch given his relationship with the Czar was poor it might have been an uncomfortable solution.

I think I read in a post that there was talk of settling them at Luton Hoo which is now a grand hotel.

Some may take note that the outlines I postulated here have taken place in Days Of OTMA's Lives.  Examples:


-the Revolution failed and Lenin was defeated.

-Nicholas finally realized the autocracy was finished and became a Constitutional Monarch.

-the Pauline Laws were repealed and Olga became Heir (she was not too thrilled with it at first, but has since accepted it).

-Tatiana continues her interest in medicine and becomes a doctor.  She ends up running her own medical center.

-Maria gets her wish to marry and have children.

-Alexei is cured of hemophilia (although this happens through magical means, not science).

-the whole family is still alive in the 1920's.


I'm sure I missed a few details, but there are there.  I'm still working at it, but since I don't have a co-writer anymore, it's slow going.  Once again I thank all those that have stuck with me.

Nope, they all come from Days.

My what-if story is a Disney-themed, time-warped one, which I am still writing and will be posted on my deviantArt soon.

In this story, only Nicky and Alix are shot in the cellar, because the Imperial children escape unharmed but are encountered a time rip that brought them to a fictional castle somewhere in France. They are welcomed there, and they live happily ever after. Olga marries the son of Mrs Potts, Tatiana and Maria marry the two princes, Anastasia marries the son of a valet and Alexei marries Ileana of Romania, who is a victim of a time warp. Ileana's siblings, Carol, Elisabeth, Maria, Nicholae and Mircea (who is luckily survived from an illness) are not spared from time rips and end up in this castle. Carol marries a princess (but not Olga or her sisters), and his siblings become important in the eyes of the rulers and other inhabitants of the castle.

After they complete their escape I'd recommend you show each of them in deep reflection. Extremely emotional as any person surely would be once the adrenaline wears off and the horror of seeing their parents and friends killed in front of their eyes starts sinking in.

I had a dream the other night (probably from reading all these posts). I'm not the overly creative writer type, so I'll put it in a nutshell and maybe somebody can run with it.

While in captivaty Alexi became pregnant (a stretch but not beyond possible) and a healthy son was born. They concealed her pregnancy under the guise of her other aches and pains from their guards. When the child was born he was slipped out with the help of a friendly guard. The child never knew of his imperial heritage, nor any of his descendants. In addition to the child being secreted out of captivity so was a warrant from NII renouncing his abdication as forced under duress and providing for the continuation of the dynasty through this secret heir. It outlined that the secret heir and his descendants had full right of inheritance to the Romanov Dynasty regardless of how they were raised or who they married as long as they accepted the Orthodox faith when the truth was revealed to them.

At some point in the future the Russian people become aware of it and demmand the return of their rightful monarch. A young man living in the USA who was raised as an adopted orphan is eventually identified as the only direct descendant of NII  and AF through DNA and returns to Russia as their new Emperor.


Far fetched I'm sure but I think it would be an interesting "what if" alternate history thing.
