Yeah, because she had that long hair, and a picture of her in post 1914 I believe, but she's in the sick room lying down in bed. Her hair is either twisted or braided.

Why I enjoy watching The Andy Griffith Show at 2am, I'll never know.
Why yes, I do enjoy comical stylings of Anastasia :]

Braided and put up in a bun?

IMO it was more of a twist than a bun. I'm not sure whether or not it was braided first. This is the best photo I know of for details of the back of Olga's hair:

(The photo of her in braids in her cot indicates that she probably wore her hair loosely braided to sleep.)

Well, either way it was pretty!

Yeah, it was probably the best way to keep the tangles out of her hair (well, most of them, anyway . . . )

Any idea who is seated on the right? My first thought was Sonia Orbeliani, but the profile looks more like Buxhoeveden.

Looks like Isa. The picture is a little too blurry for me to be certain. Did Nastya take the picture? It seems like she was spying on them from behind the column. Alexander Palace? (my knowledge of the palaces is limited...)

I think that it was taken at Livadia.

Yes, it was taken at Livadia. And about the woman, in the description it doesn't put who she is.

looks like Sonia Orbeliani to me...who else would sit there while the girls stood?....plus she has a number of things on her lap....so has been sitting for some time  and there's no place to sit there unless you brought your own seat...it's still the walk way

and btw Thank you! larri* Always love seeing something new !

I like the poses OT have in this pic!
BTW it seems Sonja to me, the dress of the woman in the first pic really seems the one Sonia has in Sarah's pics.

One of my favorites, thanks! That's Nicholas Demenkov greeting them and as GD Ally once pointed out, Marie's hat can be seen, so she was there ,but she is  hidden by the other gentleman. I recently found a larger version on line. They are so modern looking in those hats, it's starling ! Such hats would be in fashion well after their passing. Imagine  that wave of beauty coming at one?   http://i015.radikal.ru/1107/7d/2ad46ff33933.png

Okay (and I muse) . . . if Olga turned 16 on the 3/16 of November, she would have been "late" in the year - and what I mean by that, her coming-out ball was at the end of the year. Tatiana's 16th birthday was in May, so her "coming-out ball *would have been* near the middle of the year. (She never got to have one officially, did she? Or am I just missing something? Embarrassed) Anyway, in the picture posted by larri-otmaprivatealbums, then it would have been after May 29, 1913. (Wasn't her ball held off because of the tricentinial (isn't that the word?) celebrations, then, of course, the war? That's going to bug me!) Anywhoo, I do love their poses in that one, Larri. Beautiful.

I also like the one that Olgasha published. It looks like they had the same amount of fashion sense that Princess Kate has today!
