Lucky you indeed, Anna!  Shocked

I've talked to the folks at Greenwood as well -- the book is out of stock, and there's no print date yet. Two different people have assured me that it's not out of print, and they are taking backorders, though they don't know how long before the book is reprinted.

Greenwood probably wants to have a fair number of books on order before going to print again, in order to justify the cost (and make a bit of profit, which one needs to do).

I'm fortunate enough to have found the book last year through abebooks, after a very long search!
I was on biblion.com today and did a search for a copy, and lo & behold they are showing one up for sale. For some reason I can't get the link to work, but the web address is www. biblion.com if you're interested in checking it out! Smiley

Thanks, Marialana for trying, but I can't get the link to work either.

I'm suspicious that Helion & Co has pulled their more reasonably priced listings since the book went out of stock at Greenwood. Helion had new copies not so long ago, but informed me rather curtly this week that they're "no longer available." What a coincidence that Helion's listings for used copies under $200 have also suddenly disappeared...  Tongue

I'm so frustrated -- some friends gave me the money for a new copy, and the VERY NEXT DAY, Greenwood ran out. Poo!

Hmmm, that does seem a little suspicious! This afternoon I had no problem getting the link to work, and there was a used copy available for around $200, and now it's mysteriously gone! Very strange, indeed!
I will keep an eye out for you, though, because this book is truly worth the effort!  Smiley

Fear not, Mrs. Koenig!

No need to jump to conclusions -- I'm just getting close to the end of my renewal-limit Sad

I worked at my local library for 5 years, so they (and librarians in general) are my pals!

that's better  Smiley

This book will probably help me in retirement.

Thanks, Mrs. Koenig -- I'll probably try and hold out for a more reasonable price, but it's good to know these are available, just in case.  :-/

Are there any other book-searching sites I should know about, besides bookfinder and addall?

I have never read this book though I have said that I would for a long time. A college library near where I live has it, and I have looked at it several times and never bothered to check it out, and read it. I am sure it would be good but it would also be long. I will no doubt read it someday, but most likely from time to time. But then, I am lucky to even have access to it, without having to shell out big bucks Grin

addall is, I think, the best searcher because it takes in so many of the other searching sites such as bookfinder.    Always start with addall.com --

If you're a "hard core" russian history fan - then YES!
    It IS worth the cash...
It also explains a great deal about Alix' rather irrational/ emotional state. Her writing is random, disjointed and very "stream of conciousness" and reading it I can understand those who have questioned her mental state at the time.

There's one at Amazon.co.uk for only £794.22..... Shocked I didn't realize just how pricey this book was! I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

Yet if you are able to obtain the Russian/German publication, as I did, it commands less than $50!  Grin

Here is a horror story!
I have a very fine bound copy of this this text printed on lovely acid free paper - which for some evil reason one of my cats has suddenly thought would be tastey for her dinner! Only a few moments ago I had to rescue my book from my crazy puss!
I had set the book on the couch while I went to the phone -- It's Sheer Madness!

Lucky (or unlucky) me - :-/-
Only the edges were damaged!

arrrrggg!
