Blood Royal

I donīt know if anyone read the book a few years ago by a Northern Ireland school teacher who more or less claimed to be the son of the Tsarevich and Marina, Duchess of Kent. At the time of writing he was awaiting permission to test his DNA against that of the Kents!

What happened to this guy after publication? Anybody know?

Sorry, can't help you except to say I remember reading something about this claimant on one of the threads here. I have to admit it sounds outrageously farfetched to me--I mean, Marina of Kent!!?? :o And Tsarevich Alexei?! There MAY be an unlikelier couple on the face of the earth, but at the moment I cannot think of one! Still, I would definitely be interested in seeing the results of any DNA tests--which I somehow suspect will never happen. I can't think of a claimant yet who has willingly agreed to a DNA test. I think that in itself says a lot about the reliability of these claims. I mean, if I were a Grand Duchess (or more likely, the granddaughter of one) you can bet I'd be at the head of the line to have my DNA analyzed--heck, I'd be willing to pay for it out of my own pocket, just to prove my claim!! ;)

I loved that book when I read it! :P Full of mystery and intrigue. I only wish I could believe the story - it would be a rather nice sequel to the tsarist story. But I've heard it rubbished... It certainly is fairly far fetched!
