This is a portrait of Marie Louise of Hesse-Kassel as a widow with her two children Amelie and Willem:

I personally think it's the most beautifull of all portraits at Het Loo Palace. In real it's  much better, to see the glow of almost everything in this painting. Allthough the suppoost (is that a right english word by the way?) pointed out the sadness of her eyes. I can understand that because I understand her life at home was not a good place to be. At least not as far as concerns her father. Allthough I must admit that, when prince Henry died suddenly, he came to The Hague to support the interest of his daughter. She stayed in The Hague till she married again prince...of Sachsen Altenburg. I have seen a picture of one of her daughters in one of these threads. Anyway, she died young but I like her allthough there is not much known from her.
