Fürst Wilhelm and his family in 1924:
Princess Margarethe with baby Friedrich Wilhelm, Prince Friedrich Victor with Maria Theresia, the twins Benedikta and Maria Adelgunde, Fürstin Adelgunde, Fürst Wilhelm, Prince Franz Joseph and Maria Alix with their son Karl Anton.

Maria Alix

On reply 1, this lady was identified as Pss. Margarethe.
Which one is she ?

I think it's Fürstin Margarethe, née Princess of Saxony and wife of Fürst Friedrich Victor. Maria Alix's hair was a little bit darker.

I don't think that's Margarethe, she looks like Maria Alix, especially her eyes.

I've seen this photograph identified as Margarethe and as Maria Alix. I'm quite sure that it's Margarethe, but I find it hard to differentiate between the sisters as they looked so much alike and had almost the same haircut.  ;) Their younger sister Anna had different features.

I think Marie Charlotte is right. It is definitely Margarethe..

Lovely pivture of Infanta D. Antónia.

Have never seen it before.

While we are amongst the H.Sigmaringens I will post an old request, that previously had no reply.

Has somebody found a picture of Infanta D.Antónia's grand-daughter, Q.Auguste-Victoria, with her second husband, Count Douglas ?
At their wedding or at any other occasion.
Even of the count alone.
I've never seen a picture of him ...

Thanks in advance and a Happy New Year.

She would be posted in the Iberian thread as she was the last Queen of Portugal.

Tough luck down there.

I've asked more than once.

She might have been the last "titular" queen of Portugal, a country she never visited, unlike her mother-in-law who, after WW2 returned for a brief visit.

A-V never showed much interest in Portugal and the portuguese monarchist paid her back.
Besides most of them thought she should remaine a widow after D.Manuel II death, just like Queen D.Amélia did and thought that her 2nd wedding was totally inadequate and unsuitable.
I suppose at the time of her 2nd wedding, whatever "bridges" might there be between A-V and the portuguese monarchist movements, fell down forever.

I put the question of A-V and Count Douglas here, because she was born a Princess of H.Sigmaringen and married a german count (of swedish ancestry).

But feel free to put their photos here or at the Iberian thread, as long as one photo appears I will be glad enough :-)

Not too many photos available. Try the photo books published by Ted Rosval. It contains some gems of photos.

KARL ANTON Joachim Zephyrinus Friedrich Meinrad was born in Sigmaringen on 7 September 1811 and died on 2 June 1885 in Berlin. He was the first son of Karl Anton Fürst von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen and his first wife Antoniette Princess Murat.
Karl Anton was married to Joséphine Princess of Baden (1813-1900).

Karl Anton had three sisters:
1) Karoline (1810-1885); married firstly in 1839  Friedrich Hohenzollern-Hechingen (1790-1847); married secondly in 1850 Johann Stäger von Waldburg (1822-1882)
2) Amalie (1815-1841); married in 1835 Eduard of Saxe-Altenburg (1804-1852)
3) Friederike (1820-1906); married in 1844 Gioacchino Napoleone Marchese Pepoli (1825-1881)

Any pictures or more info about them?
