The teatime photo (with servants). Those were not servants but the suite who remained with the children after their parents and Marie had left. The only survivor at the table would be Pierre Gillard. The others would all be shot for their loyalty.

Yes, I know -- "servants" was a sort of lazy shorthand on my part.

I'm familiar with Gilliard, Hendrikova, and Schneider, but do you know the name of the gentleman next to Olga? It's not Trupp, Kharitonov, Sednev or Nagorny, all of whom were indeed shot by the Bolsheviks. At the moment, I can't think of another male member of the suite who was killed because of his associaition with the IF.

There were actually 2. The man is the photo was ADC General Tatischev he along with Prince Dolgorukov, stepson of Count Benckendorff, were seperated from the family upon arrival in Ekaterinburg taken to prison and shot.

I believe the General had some idea of what was to happen and is quoted as being asked to remain to die with the Tsar but was denied.

If you type in keywords related to the romanovs e.g. Tsarina, Maria Feodorovna, Grand Duchess etc. etc. some very rare pics come up - I haven't seen many before, espeically on the search for Grand Duchess. The link I'm posting has a page with a very nice photo of Nicky, Xenia, Georgi, Mikhail and their mother all around 1881 - it's a very sweet picture!

Unfortunatewl, you can't save them but they make very nice viewing!

Wonderful!
Thanks for the link. I haven't been able to find much under "Grand Duchess" due to all the images popping up about Modern Royals. But I am going to keep searching! I've already found some nice ones of Sergei!

EDIT: This is weird ... it's still leading to the same page although I got the right url! Ahh well, it's the right image gallery and if you search Maria Feodorovna the pics are on page 4!

That's a great site! But I could have used some warning!  Cheesy David Bowie has sure aged since Labyrinth...

LOL! Yeah, when I clciked the link I was horror struck, I was searching him to see what he looked like now and then searched Romanovs and copy and pasted it but the stupid link led to David Bowie!

He has aged better than some, but as you say he's definitely changed from his Labyrinth days!

Oh yeah, if you search Maria Pavalovna, there's some great pics of her in her fashion house with all her materials - amazing quality, you may need to experiment with spelling though to find it.
