I think I read that there is a kind of... Museum of France.... housed in Versailles... sounds interesting
As far as I could discover it only consisted of a number of bare rooms displaying portraits of early modern French royals and a few historic panorama paintings like Napoleon's coronation.

I also heard that you can wander round the grounds of Versailles  totally free of charge !
That's true and great, as the park is the best thing about Versailles, I'd say.

There is a floor plan of the  Petit Trianon on this website (the forum is in French) and a lot of  photos of the Trianon.

I visited Versailles in summer for four days and it was great (definatley will visit it the next year too)! We made three very interesting tours through the private rooms of the king and the queen and also of Mme de Pompadour. If there is someone interested in, I could post some pics...
Its true that you can visit the parc of the palace for free, but only under the week. At the weekends there are the Grandes eaux musicales and you have to pay for it. When you're under 26 it's also great, cause then you can visit the palace with the Grands Appartements for free!

I wish someone would visit Versailles  with a digi camera and a memory card
..... take 2000 +  pics.....  upload them to hotfile or  media fire...
and  post a link in here..... that would be fascinating !
