If those were theirs, I think those should have belonged to the Tsaritsas.
Nice finds, Alexandre!

Larry,

Sorry to jump off-topic, but I read your info about Princess Ashraf, and I wanted to ask you, since you seem to know her, she is my personal hero for her bravery against Communism and fanatic Islam and support for women's liberation and I've always wanted to meet her, I've spoken to some people before that claim to know her but they were probably lying and weren't able to introduce me to her, could you email me with any info as to how to contact her ?

Thanks so much,

DA

By the way, I am actually royalty myself (will answer any emails regarding that)

Russia Forever,

I did know Princess Ashraf;  but the operative word now is did - past tense....
At one point we sent birthday cards to each other for about 5 years.  But, the last time I was in NYC, I was not allowed to visit her - I was not on her list of secure people, I guess.  It was pretty much like trying to get into Fort Knox...
She may still have a home in Paris also;  but I was told about 10 years ago, she vacated Paris because the Empress also lived there.  They do not get along.
Princess Ashraf does have a website on the www.

Actually. I knew Princess Shams much better.  She was a friend of the movie star, Ann Miller, whom I knew very well.  Both are now dead.

Well,

So sorry for having offended you by being “Off Topic”, ‘Mr. Seems to Think He Knows it All’…..

I actually don’t think that mentioning Ann Miller ‘in passing in relation to another subject’ is Off Topic…  So, pardon me!!

If I wanted, I could relate Ann Miller to this thread - - she was a glamourous film star, who had several nice pieces of jewelry and she did hob-nob with GD Dmitry’s son, Paul.  And, she socialized with GD Vladimir and his wife, GD Leonida.  So there’s your connection, however tenuous!!

In the meantime, Eric, “just suck it up and blow it out you’re a-r-s-e!”…

I, for one did not know that about Ann Miller.  Interesting connection to the Romanovs. How did she become involved with them, I wonder. I remember her jewelry collection being auctioned. Most of it was VERY collectable "costume" pieces. At least at that auction. It was not cheap by any means.

Hi Robert,

I believe she was part of the Palm Beach set.

Trivia:
Miss Miller married 2 millionaires and 1 multi-millionaire in addition to a top salaried star. She was also one very "fun girl" to be around.

I do believe that she had costume jewelry made up in the '70's when she and her escort were nearly robbed after a party.  An off duty cop saved them...
So, she probably sold the real stuff;  smart girl!!

Absolutely fascinating the links between Anne Miller and Dimitri's son Larry! It is only natural that the stars of stage and screen would move the same circles as the exiled Romanovs in the states! It was quite similar in the UK too.

IMHO I for one feel that your contributions are perfectly apt, appropriate and relevant and interesting....far more so than those of the poster who dared to tick you off! I am surprised he had the gall to do so actually!!!!!

An off topic is an off topic. Liz Taylor owns some of Miechen's jewels, but I won't be talking about her and Richard Burton won't we ?

Larry,

Thanks for the info about Princess Ashraf, I too tried to visit her  at her home in NYC, but her security is intense ! I think she has Blackwater or one of those groups protecting her. Can't blame her though after what happened to her son.

I hope I'm not asking anything too personal, but how did you get to know Princess Ashraf ? She really is an amazing woman, I'm sorry to hear that after all these years she still has problems with Empress Farah.

Would you happen to have a telephone number or email address for the Princess or anyone who knows her ? You can send it to my email address listed on my profile. I know if I could speak to her, Princess Ashraf would be very interested  and glad to hear what I have to say.

Thanks ,

DA

Well this thread is imperial jewels, as long as it deals with that subject. There is no problem. Or you can asked the person directly in private (I do that all the time).

Hello Russia Forever,

I knew Princess Ashraf and a number of other people through a relative;  but that was many. many years ago....  And, most of these people are now dead!

Please understand that I never would release private information re: addresses and telephone numbers and any confidential matters.
I really do not think that the phone number I had for her is still relevant - 40 years old.
I do not mean to rude but Princess Ashraf's phone number is not mine to give out.  I hope you understand.
