Well, they are almost unknown historical figures, but here you are a brief info about their lives.

The other children, Alfonso and Gabriel, were less known that their elder brothers. Alfonso refused to became a duke and he lived a quiet life far from the court. He was still alive during the Second Republic. The younger, Gabriel, was deaf-mute and he died very young.

Hope this brief info helps...

The fourth child, Alfonso, was on he contrary well-known. He was president of the Spanish Red Cross. He has written an interesting little book about his branch: "Los hijos y descendientes de Sus Altezzas Reales los serenisimos señores don Sebastian Gabriel y Doña Maria Amalia de Borbon, infantes de España y Portugal.(1929).

I didn't know that about Alfonso! Would love to read the book.

I once searched for information in the Archivo de la Villa de Madrid and I found some information on his otherwise unknown wife: Julia Méndez Morales. She was refered to as "Excelentísima Señora", and I discovered that she had been born on January 1st, 1880 in Salvatierra de los Barros, in Badajoz.
She appeared not to be living with her husband and she was "in custody" of someone. I can't remember the exact details, that I'll post some other day, but I would love to know what happened exactly, as the marriage was annulled in some date that is unknown to me.

By the way, dear Yseult, I notice that Alfonso received ...85 Christian names! But he was not titled Excellency (excellentisimo señor) as his three eldest brothers were. He was simply don Alfonso de Borbon y Borbon....

Big thanks Yseults

Now these 5 princes are a little bit less unknown :)
I've learnt so many things about them & their parents
But I got one final question. Did the three elders served in spanish army?

To my knowledge, only S.Exc. don Luis Jesus de Borbon y Borbon, first duke of Ansola(1864-1889) was Cavalry officer in the spanish army. He died in Algiers 12 days before the birth of his second son, S.Exc.don Manfredo de Borbon y Bernaldo de Quiros, first duke of Hernani. Manfredo was also president of the Spanish Red Cross as his uncle Alfonso

I trust you, dear. I don´t need the list ;) But I really feel pity for the clergyman who baptised the poor little thing...imagining the man reciting no less than eighty five christian names...

Oh, dear! It is his job, isn't it? A clergyman must know reciting the Litany of Saints, I suppose?
Best regards.

so a cavalry officier like his father Sebastian. I already knew that Pedro, the grandfather was a portuguese & spanish admiral.

I read a post before that showed a wonderfull picture of Isabel II et Francisco I taken by Infante don Sebastian. Interesting, a photographer in the family :) ! so Sebastian was open to new technologies of his time. Suprising. I imagined an old fashioned man hating everything new... So I was wrong, wasn't I ?

In 2004 in Madrid, I bought  a very interesting book:"Madrid, Historia de la Fotografia" which contains many pictures taken by the Infant Sebastian Gabriel. He was the non-professional photographer the most important in spain at that time.

He married Julia Méndez y Morales, although the marriage was a disaster and they separated. I think they later got an annullment, but I'm not positively sure about that. This is what I earlier wrote in this thread.
