Of OTMA, did Maria favor Alix most?

Yes, that is the picture I was talking about.  There are some others as well.  I see Alix in her other children, but not as much as Anastasia.

well i don't think nastya was that close to alix any way. she was really most closest to her father than any one.

It is true that looks are often a mix, and it is hard to pin down exactly who might have resembled who sometimes. Perhaps it is true it was rather a mix of looks. And certain photos might make us have certain assumptions about who resembles who. As well, if you don't see someone moving, it could make it more difficult to tell what their looks were like, or who they took after in looks. That is a very true observation, although to me Marie strongly resembled Alexandra.

I have to say that I really don't see any resemblance at all to Alix in  Maria or Tatiana for that matter.  I see much more a resemblance in Olga and Anastasia.  Even though Tatiana looks so different from anyone, I see more of Nicholas' face in her.  Maria to me bears a very striking resemblance to Maria Feodorovna when she was a young woman.  I don't see her mother in her at all.  Interesting thought though.  I've never heard that before.

I've always thoght that Maria looked most like her mother while Olga looked most like her father. Anastasia looks a bit like both of them while Tatiana doesn't really  look a lot  like either of them. I see a bit of her Maria Feodoronva in Tatiana though even though Tatiana was tall while her grandmother was petite.  Like Anastasia Alexei looked like both his parents.  

If you see OTMAA's photos, you'll notice that sometimes the children looked similar to their father, and sometimes, to their mother. It depends the moment! It's pretty common in all families.  I agree that OTMAA were a good mix between their father and their mother. Nevertheless, I think that Olga was the less similar to Alix and the more close physically to Nicholas.

No question there! Olga definatley resembled her father the most. There is a picture (I believe it's on the front cover of "THE FATE OF THE ROMANOVS" where Olga and Nicholas are standing next to each other), and if you compare their facial features: eyes, eyebrows, and nose, they were nearly identical.

Tatiana, I think looked most like her mother, next to Anastasia. Tatiana had Alexandra's eyes and possibly face shape; Anastasia had Alexandra's nose and thin lips. I think her eyes were closer to Nicholas'.

Marie, I don't know. I think her facial features mostly resembled Nicholas, but of course in a more feminine way. She had fuller lips, which Alexandra didn't have, round shaped eyes, rather than almond, like Tatiana, and her father's nose. She was built like her grandfather, Tsar Alexander III.

Alexei, it's hard to tell. I've seen some pictures where he and Anastasia looked like twins, and others where Alexei looked more like Alexandra. I think, in general, he looked like both of his parents.

Wow, thats really impressing. But its often told, that features can develop in the second generation more than in the first. I think, Olga and Maria are mostly romanov site, tatiana and anastasia more the english site of her mother.Thanks for the pic

Really impressing! Yes; Maria had alot of both her paternal grandparents in her facial features. And I agree:   grandchildren are a most of the time more similar to gradparents than to the parents - of course, I'm speaking about facial and physical features-

  Xenia and Olga look not that much like their parents like the grandchild Maria does  really impressing.

Yes, she looks very much as Marie, her grandma.
She was a beautiful girl, and I knew that she is considered the most beautiful
at OTMA.
