I was a little disappointed to read that Camilla is still not particularly welcomed by HM.    The relaxation, so obvious in both in the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and their oldest son since his relationship with Camilla was regularised, indicated to me a warmth which this article denies.

Thanks again Lucien for your pics - of which please take note of Photograph 10 on the BBC website.

I don't think I have ever before heard the National Anthem sung with such gusto and genuine feeling.

Althought the Queen is a pragmatist, I think that it is fair to say that she bowed to the inevitable and that must have taken some adjustment.  I rather doubt that the duchess is ever made to feel unwelcome per se, but I would be more than surprised to discover that the Queen could abandon her natural reserve and her knowledge of that has gone before and embraced the former with open arms.

It could well take time for some real cordiality to develop in this relationship..............

I have just finished watching the first programme. What a wonderful insight it is, the first programme included the last state visit to the USA. What struck me was the love expressed from the crouds at the various destinations. Both Virginia and Washington seemed to love her. I am sure H.M. must draw strength from this love, to enable her in her role. I eagerly await the next episode to be broadcast on Monday (03/12/07), BBC1, 9pm GMT.
