No; I think that Anastasia fell when she was playing at the "Standart". She was very little. maybe she was five. I must go check the data, but I think she was pretty little when she injured herself at the forehead. I imagine that being close to her teens, the scar must have been not very noticeable.

Both seem quite probable.

He doesn't have a fringe (or not much of one) in the 1906 formals, so it must have happened after that.

So only about 5 or 6.

as she was so young when she got the scar, by the time she was old enough to have spots, it mst have just faded in the background. i think she wore the fringe out of habit

hmm
even when she was a teenager, she has 'banges' or fringe
it looks like her hair was covering her forehead

Yeah... you'd think especially when she became 16 and was allowed to wear her hair in different ways that she would have got rid of her fringe. Perhaps she was conscious about it, whether or not it had faded. But definatley in that last picture of her in Tobolsk, she still has a fringe, along with the one of her, Maria and Tatiana in th AP.

I'm sure she still had the scar at the forehead. Otherwise, she shouldn't wear any fringe..especially those times, when fringes or "bangs" were out of fashion.

Yeah, I think she did still have it as well - especially since none of her sisters had a fringe (it is a characteristic that makes her stand out from her sisters)
The only alternative reason I can think of is that she was very conscious about her scar, and even if it had faded then she didn't feel cofident enough about it.
Whether it faded or not, depends how young she was, how severe it was and how big it was and where exactly it was.
Hey - just had a thought! Does anyone have the photo of Anastasia and Maria pulling silly faces in the mauve boudoir, and Maria is pulling Nastya's fringe back?

There is a thread about Anastasia's scar somewhere here( in the Anastasia section? I posted to it about a year ago). I think the general reasons given make sense about her fringe/bangs. Of course, official photos were touched up, but all the grand duchesses had very natural beauty as well, as evidenced by those who posted about the private photos.

No, I can't really see a scar in that photo either.  Yeah, in the 1914 formals, she seems to have quite a short fringe - suggesting the scar is higher up.
Maria~fan: yeah, I think so too, it seems something that the LP would do.

Ohh, just had a thought:
This photo from 1917 with all their heads shaved - the still appears to be no scar on Nastya's head (well to me at lease!)
