was taken in 1917.

I meant the one from 1915.. but thinking of it 1915 is too late because the Romania visit happened before World War I! I wasn't thinking, but they still look tanned in that photo.

Yes...They looks very tanned. But at the same time, I can notice they were less healthy than before. Maybe it was they were recovering from measles...

i dont think it was their illness... i've never heard of anybody getting tanner from a illness.. its more paler.
but then again i'm only so old.. and not a doctor

No; I don't said that they get tanned by their measles. I think they look less healthier than before their tanning, but not for they were less or more tanned. They look thinner and more tired than when they were younger.

And yes...There are some sickness that could "tan" you..For example, some kidney affections give you a tone of false "brown tanning" very characteristic. It's the same with some bad liver illness that could tan you too, or make your face becoming a dark-yellowish-brownish tone. I'm not a doctor...But my mother is!

Yes. The sun helps you to get healthier. Is for that that they could get tanned easily. Sick persons don't get tanned so quickly. They were recovering. And I also think that they must be a little depressed by their father's fall. However, their faces were smiling.

I also would like to tan like them in this pick...Sadly, I'm very, very pale and the only think I get every summer is a red swollen skin. Arrrgghhh.

yes... there were so many characteristics that was for their skin...
i don't think i ever saw a blemish on one of those girls faces!

Good point... I don't think I have... I'd say that in formals the photos were often made to reduce the appearance of any kind of blemishes, but their faces appear just as immaculate in ALL photos - formal and non-formal.

There is a theory that Anatasia had a fringe due to a scar on her forehead, but I cannot think of any othre blemishes as such. I find it hard to believe that ALL four got through puberty with out the slightest resemblance of a spot or something on some kind of blemish their face.

Yet, I cannot find any evidence to the contrary. They really do seem perfect in every way - they're so beautiful, and their faces are so wonderfully smooth-looking and beautiful.

i know... its very hard to believe.
Anastasia did have a scar.. but i'm sure it wasn't noticeable

i have one on my forehead, i scratched off a chicken pox when i was younger.

i'm sure that they must have had a zit, or a pimple.
then again i'm sure the didn't take pictures of every moment of their life.

Do we know how she got that scar?

Yeah, it must be virtually impossible to not have a single zit in one's lifetime - not matter how clean one keeps one's self.

Yes, of course they didn't take pictures of every moment of their life, but isn't a conicidence that for all the times that they did take photos, ALL the girls were unblemished with zits and pimples and spots?
