Book by Author GUY RICHARDS - THE HUNT FOR THE TSAR/CZAR

Does anyone have any information on him?  Is he still alive?  Any contact information?  I've searched on the internet but can only find links to his books.

No,  he´s not alive . I think he died already in 1979 if I remember correctly. He was a journalist living in New York. He wrote three
 books about Romanov "survivors".  Imperial Agent, Hunt for the Czar and The Rescue of the Romanovs.

Before reality set in, I found his books so fascinating!  I loved the idea of the escape and the British Agent that helps them... I was sure that there was an element of truth in there.  I guess he should have been a novelist!

The book, "The Hunt for the Czar," is full of preposterous scenarios, especially the taped "reunion" between Goleniewski ("the Grand Duke Alexei N.") and Eugenia Smith ("the Grandduchess Anastasia N."). IMO, a far more interesting character emerges, a Kyril (de) Sishmarev, an alleged childhood playmate known as "the English Baby," of the real Grand Duke Alexei N.  I believe that Mr. (de) Sishmarev is now deceased (1975?).  AP

Thank-you for all the information.  I'm just about finished with Imperial Spy.  This is the 1st of Guy Richards' books.  I have "Rescue of the Romanovs" and I just ordered "Hunt for the Tsar".  All are available on Amazon for low prices.  Mr. Richards was a respected journalist so I don't believe he made up his information.  At the time he was writing, it was very easy to believe someone had survived.  It was the height of the Cold War and he had none of the documents we have had the privlege to read about and of course he had no DNA evidence.  Based on the information he uncovered I can see how he reached his conclusion.  I also find Shay McNeal's book, "The Secret Plot to Save the Tsar" fascinating.  She has quite a bit of information but just doesn't seem to know where to go with it.

Based on the DNA evidence, their conclusions are incorrect but yet there seems an element of truth to it.  There is a story here, I'm just not sure what "yet".   Was there a failed plan to rescue the Tsar?  Was it propaganda?  My first step is to research the sources and then go from there.

 Also, what is the true date, time and place of the photo (Plate 22) captioned 'the alleged Grand Duchesses... photographed in Poland, circa 1921'?

I'm a bit late to this discussion. I happened upon it because I was searching for the plate number of that photo for a citation. (Thanks for supplying it!)

What makes me chuckle everytime I read that claim of Richard's is the fact that the Grand Duchesses themselves pasted a copy of that photograph onto a postcard which they mailed from the Alexander Palace to the members of H.I.M. Convoy on June 25, 1917! It even appears at the back of E. E. Alferieff's book.
