Re: Just to put this out there...Romanov style!
A bit of a silly question, but I've been wondering if the Romanovs (not just NAOTMAA but the Romanovs before them too) had court musicians. I don't remember reading about it anywhere. Anyone know? Thanks!

I know there was a Balalaika orchestra on the
Standart
, but that's the extent of my knowledge on the subject of imperial musicians. Somewhere around here, there's a photo of Aleksei as a toddler on deck with the balalaika players.

I have a small question. Did TMAA ever visit France? All I know is Olga did, as a baby.

Yes, I remember seeing a photo of the family in Cherbourg in 1910 or something like that. I can find it.

GD Sasha-
Yes, they had GREAT court musicians, probably the best outside of Vienna. Not only the Guards milirtary bands, but the Bolshoi and Mariinsky were theirs. See King's Last Court...

Another question, anyone know which regiments Alix, Maria, and Anastasia had? Olga's and Tatiana's were on Livadia.org.

Does Anastasia has a picture with her regiment uniform? I know I've seen a picture of Marie but I haven't found one of Anastasia's.
