I've only seen it mentioned in one book that I can remember.

Maria, Anastasia and Alexei would use the coded language to write each other messages and exchange them secretly. It appears to me to just be a change in spellings and such.
Here's the only sample published so far:

"To Her Highness stupid Marie and Anostoie. Thanks for thesnakck I rekon well befightin. M. A. Alexei. 1914."

Almost. It does appear in Gothic (blackletter) script for you guys too, right?

Response # 722 makes (in an attempted translation) reference to "verlegt," when the quote in # 721 is shown as "VETERLEGT".  IMO, "verlegen" is a modern German infinitive (if one takes the spelling shown in #722 --as "verlegt" --as a potential conjugation of such).  Regardless, it would appear to not be relevant to the "title proclamation/recitation," using this spelling.   AP.

It's not in German. It's in a language spoken by some of NII's subjects, who wrote it in blackletter, although they were changing to antiqua during his reign. You can all see it in blackletter, right?

 Hello, "F.P."!  Yes, of course, I understand that it is NOT in German, with which I am familiar, and thus occasion my remarks. Simply the response attempt (#722) that the poster made, rendered (through a mis-reading, apparently of "verlegt" versus "veterlegt") a modern German spelling of a conjugation's parent infinitive, which gives no comprehensible meaning/addition to the "Title Proclamation."  Apparently by utilizing/relying on a automated translator, that is why the poster had a problem resulting in a string of gibberish in meanings for that word.
 As to "Black Letter," your remarks appear partially (on this computer) in "bold," not the so-called "Fraktur," if that is what you are asking.

Oh, that's too bad. I imagined the fonts we could use were universal. Does this appear in Old English blackletter? (Which I presume is a more common font than Schwabacher, which I used.)

Ah, OK. I tried to use another computer and then my first post didn't appear in Schwabacher blackletter. Apparantly it only works on my computer, unfortunately, since I have downloaded the font. But I could see the text in Old English blackletter, priobably because that's a more common font. (It's a standard option in Microsoft Word.)

The text was in Swedish (with archaïc spelling), means "Vi, Nicholas the Second, Emperor of All Russia, Tsar of Poland and Grand Prince to Finland, do make known that..." and I wanted to have it in blackletter, because that's how the imperial-grand ducal proclamations appeared in Finland right up to NII's reign, during which Finland started to exchange blackletter script (Fraktur aka "Gothic script") with antiqua aka Roman script.

But the Russian version appears in Cyrillic chancery style? and italics here, doesnt it?
