Re: Why am I a newbie again? What happened to my posts?

Yes, I figured out a way to make this work.

So, once you pass 100 posts you become "Boyar", 250 is Graf, 500 is Knyaz, 1000 is Velikye Knyaz

Boyar was minor nobility like Count, Graf is like Prince, Knyaz is Duke, Velikye Knyaz is Grand Duke.

Well alrighty then. Is this true for all posts or just the posts in the "history" threads? I only ask because my post count has been at 39 ever since the server crashed.  It's not counting my posts anymore. Please advise. Thanks.

Thanks Rob!

The new statuses are great fun, and I appreciate you making the discussion threads a little less public.

I adore the new Imperial status we have acquired. Very appropriate for the Palace. Thanks FA.

However my count still remains static. Could that be rectified please?

Thanks in advance.

By the way, your post counts should start advancing now. I've finished turning on all the History discussion threads to count.

Discussion Forum, Having Fun, Welcome New Users, Imperial Claimants Post Here, all do NOT count for Posts.

Thanks FA. I know how tedious that is to go through all those boards and reset the post counts. I don't know why it's even like that, it should just be automatic.

What I don't understand is why my post count still says 0 and this is my fourth post. :-\

It's because your posts so far have been in the Discussion Forum, Forum Announcements and Having Fun sections. They don't count towards post counts.

I do like the Russian designations much better than the old designations. The 'god' designation made me very uncomfortable not only because I was reared and trained as a strict monotheist but because there seem to be too many 'gods' for the designation to have any value.

Despite the changes my posts are still down anywhere from between 275 and 375 posts but then again does this actually mean anything. I would put the value of a few hundred posts of one present member (not myself) as having the educational value of some of the very active members 1000, 2000 or even 3000 posts. As posts are not of equal value what real meaning can the designations  have other than novelty value?

David

Hi David:

I waited a bit to respond to your question because I wanted to see what manner of answers would show up. I still don't see any. Your question strikes directly at the heart of this issue. Here's my opinion. Many people are "status conscious" and , as such, they enjoyed the "novelty" of the various designations and colored stars. I think that's part of the attraction of these boards. As long as no one is deceived into believing these designations have any "meaning" other than being a novelty, I guess there's no harm done. BTW, I know this post won't add to my "count". :)
