I found these two photographs on the russian state archives. They were labelled as "daughters of Ludwig IV".
I believe the first one is baby Victoria and the second one baby Ella. What do you think?

There is a photo from the same sitting with Grand Duchess Alice's handwriting on it - and one sees it quite clearly

I can't seem to get the image posted correctly, so here's the LOC link:

Thanks!

Even with a small size of the picture it can be said that's not Alice. One more mislabeled picture.

Agreed.  Looks like the original collector (a Martha Coddington) mislabeled the picture herself.  Any ideas on who it is?  It's driving me nuts, but the picture reminds me of one of the other ducal families in Germany.

For the record, I think the LOC's labeling of it as c. 1860-69 is off as well.  With the hairstyle and dress, look more 1870s to me, but perhaps I'm wrong.

You re right about the hairdo :-D. Most possible its the image of a woman from the aristocracy, but not a royal.

That's certainly a possibility!

Here's a larger version of the CDV that is mislabeled as Princess Alice.  The LOC's catalog record is listed below.

I'm still having trouble uploading pictures.  Even the emoticons are showing only as a small white box w/ an "X" through it...

I found this image in the Russian State Archives... It is labeled as Elisabeth, but am wondering if she is Ernie's Elisabeth? The other images in the album are from 1899-1900.

Sorry for two entries...
from the same album, but this one is labeled as Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna.
I think the two photos are of the same little girl. Ella or Olga?

The second one looks a bit like Elisabeth of Hesse, Ernie's daughter.
