and for Hastings there was no time even for invitations, as he was taken outside by order of Richard III  (sorry Kim!) and summarily executed.

There was two whole years to send out the invitations for Lady Salisbury, however!

I think because Elizabeth I wanted to distance herself from that as much as she could. Wasn't the sentence carried out without her knowlege, even though she had signed the warrant (which she later claimed was a clerical error)?

If  you turned Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewett's character on Ghost Whisperer) loose in the Tower Of London, I wonder how many ghosts she'd run into?

Rudolf Hess was briefly a prisoner in the Tower during war.  He was well have been the last person to be incarcerated there.

Simply stunning and poignant pictures although there are some  rumblings over how much of the monies raised is going to the charity.
