Myspace Romanovs
« on: September 30, 2006, 04:17:54 PM »
Lately I've noticed a trend on myspace: people roleplaying as various members of the Romanov family and other royals. It's kind of cute actually, seeing them comment on each other's pages. Here are some examples:

Xenia: http://www.myspace.com/84050885
Felix: http://www.myspace.com/103751018
Nicholas II: http://www.myspace.com/48558701
Alexandra: http://www.myspace.com/99807455
Olga Nikolaievna: http://www.myspace.com/olgaromanov
Tatiana Nikolaievna: http://www.myspace.com/tatianaromanov
and various and sundry other royals that you can see on their friends lists....

There are so many mistakes! Go to the NII one's friend space and click the profile for GD Olga. It labels a Tatiana picture as Olga! haha. They're really funny. Especially the survey on the Nicholas one.

I know -the mistakes are everywhere. I corrected the guy that made Henry VIII's profile (http://www.myspace.com/kinghenrytudor) and told him that one of his pics was actually Richard III, but he's never changed it. The survey, though is hilarious! "Current location: purgatory/hell","Do you want to get married? Again?", "In the past month have you been Dumped? NO - I dump people, not the other way round - and they end up with their head dumped in a basket". I'm just surprised of the royals on there that people even have the slightest knowledge of. An Alexei profile (http://www.myspace.com/alexeiromanov) even has a link here, so maybe some of our own members are creating profiles.

What really cracks me up is the music some of these folks have put on their profiles. The only one I've run across so far that's halfway appropriate to the historical character is Marie Fedorovna -- Strauss's Voices of Spring waltz.

Yeah, I haven't found any of mine on myspace, but if you search for OTMA on webshots one of mine is the very first to come up. Along with many other stolen photos.  :-\

It is interesting..but I would rather be debating royalty on here. I have never even been on myspace actually, but I can't figure out how to post pictures to here, so I am not sure I could figure it out. ;)

frankly i find... those kind of sites a bit... in conventional.

you could get really hurt on those kind of sites.
but i do find it terriblely funny that they would use Royalty.

in conventional?  ???

Honestly, I think the only way you can get hurt on a site like myspace is if you were dumb enough to meet someone you didn't know, that you met through there. It all depends on how you use the site. If you want to talk to people you don't know, you add them. If you don't, you just add friends. Sorry to rant -I just heard of another report of someone blaming myspace for their kid running away. I've only ever met one person from myspace in person. He went to school with my friend, went to the movies with another friend, and we met in Wal-Mart. If your kid met up with someone in a motel that they didn't know, you probably should have parented him or her better. Ok -rant over.

Imperial Angel, if you ever decide to join myspace I'd be glad to help you out. Trust me, it's ridiculously easy. Otherwise, half the boneheads that are on now wouldn't be on it.  :P Remember what Barney always said: don't talk to strangers.  ;D
