No resting Place for a romanov by Sue Edwards
« on: October 05, 2006, 10:25:45 AM »
Hi everyone

I am interested in the case of Larissa Feodorvna someone who didn't actually claim to be anyone in partcular, but who some people feel might of been GD Tatiana. I find it interesting because she didn't actually claim anything and led a very secretive life untill she died aged about 28, something I find a lot more likely than a claimant screaming out that they're a member of the imperial family.

I've seen this book on Amazon and was considering getting it, I already have the Romanov Conspiracies but I wondered if anyone could tell me if 'No resting place...' has anything new to offer, as I found The Romanov Conspiracies to be incoherent in places.

Thankyou in advance for any help!

Best

Hi Rachael,

If you enjoy myths then fine, but please keep in mind that such publications are peddled out only to create the illusion of fact, and corrupt the truth. Grand Duchess Tatiana was brutally assassinated, and guided by that thought, Her memory should be respected.

I don't mean to sound horrible Belochka but that wasn't really very helpful. I apprecaite what you are trying to say and I always take books such as this with a pinch of salt anyway, I'm just interested.

Have you read the book? Can you give me any info on it? I would be very greatful!

Hi Rachael --

I have this book, and for the prices quoted on amazon, I think it's worth it.  It's a nice little collection (only 75 pages long) of information and photographs about Larissa Haouck(sp?), Owen Tudor, and their life in Lydd in the 1920s.  Sue Edwards, the author, has also been in contact with the Tudor family, and thus provides nice details to the story.  This book contains all the information that's in Romanov Conspiracies, but also quite a bit more, as the author concentrates on the Tudor household more than on the "conspiracies."

It's an interesting little book, and quite well-written, I think.  I confess that I AM a completist, and seem to be able to find things to like in most books -- but that aside, I really do think that this rare little book is worth a few pounds.

Ask away, if you have any more questions -- or you can email me at penny@kingandwilson.com if you prefer.

Happy reading!

Penny

Thankyou very much Penny! It is very kind of you to offer such a useful response, I am selling a few things right now so I should be able to afford it.

Thanks again!

Yes,it´s a nice little book with some photos from Lydd where Owen Tudor and Larissa lived but it doesen´t give any more information on who Larissa Feodorovna really was than what Michael Occleshaw´s book gives. But it´s an interesting story and quite a mystery.

They were gone from Amazon when I got there,  and very rare everywhere else.  So, I may just look for Occleshaw.  It may be a mythological read, but diverting, to say the least, in light of what we now know to have happened at Ekaterinburg.
