what a sad news! Are there any more info about his family? He had four children, but two eldest sons died young - Edouard (1960-84) and Robert (1961-88)...

The eldest, Edouard-Xavier (1960-1984) was murdered in mysterious circumstances. He was killed by two buck-shots in the back. Then, he was thrown in the Seine river, in Ivry sur Seine in the suburb of Paris, weighted with a stone of 17 kilos. Up to now, the investigation yielded no result.
Four years later, in 1988, his brother Robert was assassinated in Lebanon. I think he was there for a humanitarian mission for the Order of Malta.
Charles-Henri, the third son, lives in Paris and his sister, Marie Gabrielle is a nun.
Prince of Lobkowicz 's funeral will take place Thursday april 8 at Saint Thomas d'Aquin Church in Paris.

I am very sorry. I made a mistake. Prince Robert of Lobkowicz was not murdered but he died of a brain tumor in Beirout in 1988. He was 26 years old. He lived in Paris.

It had to be cruel for the parents to loose both sons, one in mysterious circumstances and one because of this last illnes.
REMI, do you know if marriage of princess Françoise of Bourbon-Parma was considered morganatic in her family? And what was her (or her family) part in carlist "problem" of her brother?

I don't think the marriage of HRH Princesse Françoise of Bourbon-Parma was considered morganatic by her family. On the contrary... Her husband, His Serene Highness Prince Edouard of Lobkowicz belonged to a  Mediatized House of the Holy Roman Empire. Thus, a royal princess was allowed to marry a mediatized  prince, their alliance was considered equal, not morganatic.
This marriage was considered so much the less morganatic that Robert II, duke of Parma, the head of the House was present to the wedding in 1960 at Notre-Dame in Paris.
The family is deeply divided for politic reasons. On the one hand, you see Carlos Hugo and three of his sisters (Maria Teresa, Cecilia and Maria de las Nieves) who share his... socialist views. On the other hand, there is Sisto Henrique professing ideas of... extreme right, and Françoise who is not fallen out with him....

This marriage was treated equal as Eduard was as Remi pointed out a meditized Prince who is as such considered equal with other royal families...even Queen Elizabeth II descends from Lobkowicz family...

On the other hand there could be a dispute regarding the Lobkowicz House Laws because his mother was a commoner born and lived in US and by that someone could say that he is not entirely "equal"...

But,if you look just from the male line point of view a union with Lobkowicz would always be regarded "technically" as equal unlike the union with for example old Rochefoucauld family which could be tricky for some Houses...just depends on Law of a certain House...

The venue was not disclosed prior to the event but it was at Wijk bij Duurstede, hometown of his mother HRH Princess Irene.
Annemarie now is a full blown HRH Princess de Bourbon de Parme,Princess of Piacenza in all documents.
Carlos will be Head of the House after his father, titles do not come as a mere courtesy then, she is a Princess
in her own right now.Equivalent to her Cousin,Princess Máxima who also is a Princess in her own right as spouse of the Heir.

HRH Prince Carlos Hugo,Duke of Parma, father of Prince Carlos, has been admitted to hospital due to his suffering from prostate cancer.
The Duke of Prama is under treatment for several years now,but this recidive turns out to be extremely serious. So much so
that HRH deemed it fit to call upon his next of kin to a refer to and acknowledge his eldest son as the Duke of Parma in a manifesto issued earlyer.

Prince Carlos, who married Anne Marie Gualthérie van Weezel in a civil ceremony in march this year,
might cancel the preparations to the religious wedding ceremony in Brussels later this month on the
28th due to his fathers condition.

The manifesto is seen as a goodbye by the Prince.Truly sad indeed,he is always seen as one of us,one of the
Orange Nassau Family closests and dearest since his marriage to HRH Princess Irene in 1964,even their divorce did
not change the sympathy we Dutch have for Carlos Hugo.He is a wonderfull father, and uncle to the plentyfull
children of his former wifes sisters, but also a very very close and very dear friend of HM Queen Beatrix.

En las manos de Dios.I hope it will be soothing comforting Hands that will enlighten him and spare him for more suffering.
God Bless you Carlos Hugo.
