HRH The Duchess of Parma gave birth to a daughter yesterday at the Bronovo Hospital,The Hague.
The wee Princess is named Luisa Irene Constance Anna Maria.Mother and child are doing great!!!

It is the first child for the Ducal couple.

The venue is one of the most beautifull churches in existence,a favorite of her late father,so Princess Maria Carolina,Marquesa di Sala choose the San Miniato al Monte in Florence for her wedding.Today will highlight two young people who usually live outside the spotlights,their own choise.That was easyer to do for Albert Brenninkmeijer who's in the family business since he was 18,then it was for Maria Carolina,being the granddaughter of HM Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard,a niece to HM Queen Beatrix,and daughter to the inspirational Princess Irene and Prince Carlos Hugo,the late Duke of Parma.She was only seen on family haydays,weddings & funerals&birthday bashes,and worked & lived quietly,mostly at totally unexpected places due to her work.Born at Nijmegen in The Netherlands,raised in Madrid and Paris,and at Soestdijk Palace,studied in the US she is internationally oriented.That also goes for her work for the UN Humanitarian Office.She lived in Eritrea,Zimbabwe and the Palestinian Territories fe,living of a diet of falafel and black coffee.A "great & tough job" as she calls it,but also Noblesse Oblige;"A logic consequence of our upbringing,of our Family tradition".
While living and working in the Palestinian Territories,she often met with her brother Prince Jaime on her short holidays,who also worked in "the region",stationed at Kabul,Afghanistan and Bagdad,Iraq,for the Dutch Foreign Office as a conflict management expert.
 
10 Years ago the Spanish media tought Maria Carolina and then still bachelor Felipe de Asturias to be a perfect match,and allthough her father said;"Nothing in life is impossible",it was the Princess that terminated it with a;"I don't do rumours"....grin...

Today the Duke bestowed Orders at the church of Santa Maria della Steccata in Parma and as a surprise gesture daughter Princess Luisa was presented!A gesture that went down with a round of hefty applause,beautifull!!Most family members have already arrived,Princess Irene will
arrive tomorrow.
